Bittersweet Moment

This was my last homecoming, senior year is starting to really hit home.
I absoutely fell in love with dress, Betsey Johnson of course was having a sale when I went in... SCORE!
and what better than to wear my own personally designed shoes!

I polished off my homecoming look with a laid back pony and totally glam black and gold dangle earrings.
p.s. SORRY its been so long since I have updated... I have more posts plan to come! :)

CLASS OF 2012!!

Hey Everyone! Yesterday I started my senior year, it was amazing, it was my last first day of school at home!

Here is my siblings and I, you can tell we all like the same clothes.

My chiffon top, jeans, and wedges was a perfect outfit for the blazen hot first day of school. With 107 degree weather it is hard to dress in the school dress code and still be cool enough with the weather.

I am excited to see what this year has in store, it has a lot firsts and a lot of lasts.
CLASS OF 2012 LETS MAKE THIS YEAR ROCK!!

Pumped Up Kicks

Besides the fact that I love that song by Foster and the People... I love my new shoes that I designed all by myself!
Savers has become my new best friend lets put it that way, and sorry I haven't posted in awhile life's been crazy lately.

But here is a look at some of what I have been doing ....
                                                         I started with this..

                                                            Than it became like this..

                                                                       Ended with this!

                                                                  BEFORE AND AFTER

They were the perfect finish for this outfit, gave it that special punch of uniqueness it needed.

Ps. I love this shirt!! So flowy and so rich in color cant help but feel totally fabulous in it.

I am going to make this a massive post filled with bunch of randomness as well so top things that are on my mind lately:
1. SCHOOL STARTS IN TWO WEEKS!! CLASS OF 2012 BABY! -I'm finally a senior?! and I'm taking my senior pictures next week so bittersweet!
2. I think I am going to keep up with these DIY projects, I am working on one right now that I can't wait to share!!
3. I need to clean my room please excuse the minor mess you can see in some of my shoe pictures haha

Well thats all folks!!(insert bugs bunny voice here)

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!

Hope everyone had a safe and fun Fourth! When I was deciding what to wear for the Fourth, my favorite stylist, Rachel Zoe had one of her fabulous Zoe Reports just to help me. She had featured these flag print shorts I fell in love with them.. than I realized they were $160! That would never happen, so I kept looking at them daydreaming than I had the idea why don't I make my own and thats just what I did!

  THESE ARE THE $160 ONES
heres the link if you would like them yourself: http://www.singer22.com/617.html

HERE ARE MINE
made only for $7! yes.. $7!
I bought Levi shorts at Savers for $6, and than an American flag print bandanna at Micheals for $1!
Felt just as chic wearing these bad boys as I would in the $160 ones

                                           GOD BLESS ALL OUR TROOPS!

One time... at Fashion Camp...

I did all of this, it was such an amazing experience. Anyone who is thinking about going to FIDM 3 days of fashion, GO! Don't give it a second thought, just go! It was very educational and inspiring. Everyone is so awesome there! Just take a look at my experience....

                WORKSHOP #1- "Recycle, Renew, Refashion"

For this workshop we had to take old clothes and make them look new. I started off with a cream cashmere sweater and I added purple knit accents to make it look refreshed and new!

WORKSHOP #2- " Learning to Identify a Fashion Trend"
In this workshop we got clippings from fashion magaiznes from the U.S., Italy, and France. From there we had to find common trends and than come up with a clever name for each trend.

WORKSHOP #3- " Draping the Dress"
This was one of my favorite workshops. We got to work with the Estevan Ramos. He showed us examples of his one works and than let us give it a try, here is what my partner and I did...
                                                                        Front
      Side
                                                                        Back
                                                       My partner Kailey and I
Estevan Ramos, Kailey and I - front of dress
Estevan Ramos, Kailey and I- Back of dress

SIDE NOTE:  Kailey and I got recognized for our draped dress. Estevan Ramos picked four of his students from all of his workshops to reconized, those who really stood out and inspired him.

We recieved a signed book that he personally likes and some jewelry from a line he is working with.

                                                   WORKSHOP #4- THE SHOE
In this workshop we watched videos on how shoes are made and than we got to design and sketch our own shoe we would like to make.

WORKSHOP #5- Creating a Promotional Campaign
This workshop we had to make a mock photoshoot display for a potiental customer. My group's customer was for Forever 21 new kid's line. We made ours set at a garden in the park scene, we also had to make a promotional poster.

                                                      ALMOST AT THE END

FEW BLOCKS DOWN FROM FIDM IS THE STAPLES CENTER AND LA LIVE. MY MOM, GRANDMA, AND I ALL WALKED DOWN HERE ONE NIGHT TO HAVE DINNER.

The end of the event all the attendees gathered in the park and hear Nick Verreos talk and show off some of his new designs.

SIDE NOTE: ALL OF HIS DRESSES HAS POCKETS, AND THE DRESS BELOW WAS ONCE WORN BY KATY PERRY HERSELF!

There was so many more workshops and things happening during these 3 days. FIDM thank you so much for hosting this amazing event. I had a wonderful time and I cant wait to use all the skills I learned in the future!
